Confusion over Bouna Sarr signing at Bayern Munich?https://twitter.com/iMiaSanMia/status/1366143665220038659
Per a report, there appears to be some uncertainty in the Bayern Munich front office over who wanted Bouna Sarr.
In what has to be one of the crazier stories to emerge this season, Twitter account @iMiaSanMia captured a report from Sport Bild chief Christian Falk which stated that no one within the Bayern Munich front office wants to accept responsibility for the decision to sign Bouna Sarr last October.
Sarr, of course, was one of a flurry of late signings by sporting director Hasan “Brazzo” Salihamidzic — or was he?
While everyone in the front office is pulling a Shaggy, Falk pointed out that Sarr was signed on the recommendation of the club’s chief scout in France, Laurent Busser:
While we don’t know all of the specifics on Busser’s involvement or who from the Bayern Munich ordered the “Code Red” to sign Sarr, it is safe to say that there is likely a bit of buyer’s remorse from the club in not only signing the back-up right-back, but also giving him a (*gulp*), four-year contract.
As of now, Sarr resides behind both Benjamin Pavard and Süle in the team’s pecking order at right-back. It should be said, however, that there is still plenty of time left on Sarr’s deal — and it is likely that he will get the opportunity to prove his mettle once more unless the two parties want to talk about a transfer away during this summer transfer window.
